Sterlent Credit Unions mission is an ongoing
commitment to provide quality products and services

A logical concern arising from the rapidly changing
world of technology and specifically the Internet
is your right to conduct business with us in confidence,
and your right to maintain privacy over your financial
matters.
We want to assure you that we share your concern.
Sterlent Credit Union is committed not only to
providing you with the most efficient services,
but to ensure that all business you conduct with
us is held in the strictest confidence and that
your transactions are safe and secure.
To this end, Sterlent Credit Union has adopted
an Information Privacy Policy. The policy states
that any information disclosed to Sterlent Credit
Union in the course of normal business will be
held in the strictest confidence. Employees are
reminded that their responsibility to maintain
this privacy continues even after their employment
ends.
In addition to the privacy policies and procedures
set forth in our Information Privacy Policy, we
have also adopted specific measures to protect
your privacy when you conduct business with us
online. This Online Privacy Policy sets forth
in greater detail how we treat your personal information
online.
Online Banking Protection
We take a proactive approach to making the business
you transact with us as safe and secure as possible,
in both the delivery and storage of data.
Some areas of our web site require you to input
certain information, such as your account number
or personal identification number, to verify your
identity and to enable you to perform certain
tasks (for example, review your account history
or transfer funds). Whenever we ask for personal
information on our web site, we use Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) Technology for transferring data.

your account information so it is virtually impossible

Online Applications/Forms
Sterlent Credit Union provides several online
forms (i.e. applications, check orders) to better
serve the needs of our Members. Personal information
provided by the member via any of the online forms,
is sent to us on secure lines, and is used solely
to process the members request for service.

In order to better serve you and protect your
account information, some of our online services
use cookies. Cookies are nuggets of
data that are stored on your hard drive as a file.

these online services. Cookies make it easier,
quicker, and more secure for you to log into and
use these services. Cookies do not compromise
your privacy. The data is usually stored on your
computers hard drive as a file or folder
and can be deleted at anytime if you choose.
In order to improve our web site, we gather and
analyze data regarding usage of our web site,
including number of hits, pages visited, length
of user sessions, etc. to evaluate the usefulness
of our site. This data is limited to general information
and does not contain your name, account number
or any personal information about you.

you provide us with your e-mail address, please
keep in mind that your e-mail address, and any
other information your e-mail header shows about
you, such as your name or organization, will be
revealed to us in the e-mail. If you send an e-mail
though our web site, we collect and store the
personal information submitted by you to respond
to inquiries for service or information. When
you communicate with us via e-mail, we will use
your e-mail for the specific purpose of responding
to your comments or questions.
In addition, if you provide us with your e-mail
address, we may send you Sterlent marketing information
via e-mail from time to time. Your e-mail address
will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others
outside the credit union unless we are compelled
to do so by law. If you wish to be removed from
Sterlent marketing by e-mail, contact our member
service department at 1-866-783-7536.
The web site e-mail as well as e-mail sent to
credit union employee addresses via the credit
union Internet address is not secure, and should
be used only for information or inquiries of a
non-sensitive and non-confidential nature. Likewise,
since an Internet e-mail response back to you
is not secure, we will not include confidential
account information in the e-mail response.
Link Site Visits
If you link to another site from any of our pages,
we cannot be held responsible for any information
that may be gathered at a linked site. We cannot
ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy
policies as ours and offer you maximum security
and privacy. If you come across anything inappropriate
due to a link, please let us know and we will
remove that link.
Children's Online Privacy
We encourage all children to get parent or legal
guardians permission before giving out any
information about themselves to anyone by e-mail
or over the Internet. We do not knowingly market
or solicit information from children under 13
years of age without parental consent. We invite
you to contact us with any concerns, comments,
or questions you may have.
Your Responsibility Regarding Privacy
You can help maintain the security of your banking
information by not sharing your I.D. or password
with anyone, by changing your password periodically,
and by remembering to always sign off after a
banking session.
